Enika Banerjee is a Senior Lecturer of Japanese at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She oversees the Japanese Business Certificate program and teaches courses such as elementary/upper intermediate Japanese, Japanese Business and Culture, and Advanced Spoken Business Japanese. Her research focuses on foreign integration's impact on Japanese business culture and the role of native speaker collaboration in language learning. She holds a BA in Japanese Linguistics from Sophia University (1991) and an MA in Japanese Studies (Japanese Anthropology and Modern Japanese History) from SOAS, University of London (2000). Prior to academia, she worked in investment banking in Tokyo and Boston, and as an interpreter/translator for Japanese firms in the U.S.
