Associate Professor Engin Çetin serves in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Istinye University School of Medicine. A graduate of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (2001), he specializes in spinal deformity correction, trauma surgery, and osteoporosis fracture management.
His research focuses on:
- Spinal deformity biomechanics and surgical correction
- Vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty for osteoporotic fractures
- Diagnostic methods for lumbar spine degeneration
- Molecular enhancement of spinal fusion
- Trauma surgery outcomes and techniques
Recent publications (2020-2023) demonstrate active research in distraction osteogenesis, surgical decision-making for spinal deformity, and cross-cultural validation of outcome measures. His clinical studies analyze implant failure mechanisms and optimize surgical approaches for complex spinal conditions.
Professor Çetin actively supervises research projects and teaches spinal surgery techniques. His collaborations span multiple Turkish medical institutions, with significant contributions to understanding rotational deformity correction in scoliosis and predictive tools for surgical outcomes in adult spinal deformity.
