Engel Christoph

Christoph Engel is a Professor and Director of the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn, Germany. He holds a faculty position at the University of Bonn's Faculty of Law and Economics. His academic journey includes a Dr.jur. (1988) and Habilitation (1992) from Tübingen and Hamburg, respectively. Previously, he was Full Professor of Media and Communications Law at the University of Osnabrück (1992–1997).

His research focuses on experimental and behavioural law and economics, with contributions to economic law. Notable awards include the Otto-Hahn Medal (1988) and Friedwart Bruckhaus Förderpreis (1989).
