Emre Akyüz is a Professor in the Department of Maritime Transportation Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. His research focuses on maritime safety, risk analysis, and decision-making models in maritime systems. He leads projects addressing tanker safety, cyber-attack risks in autonomous ships, and maritime health training. Akyüz has published over 100 articles and secured multiple grants, including EU-funded initiatives. He was awarded the ITU Science Awards' Young Academician Success Award (2023) and Above Threshold Prizes (2022).
