Res. Asst. Emrah KORKULU is a Researcher in the Department of Veterinary Virology at Kafkas University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine since 2024. He holds a PhD in Veterinary Virology from Ankara University's Institute of Health Sciences (2022) and a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine from Ankara University (2017-2022).
His research focuses on viral infections in animals, particularly feline leukemia virus (FeLV), SARS-CoV-2, and Schmallenberg virus. Key areas include vaccine development, molecular epidemiology, and zoonotic pathogen transmission. He is actively involved in projects such as the development of recombinant vaccines against feline hepatitis virus and studying viral antigen prevalence in Turkish cat populations.
Recent publications explore the immunogenicity of SARS-CoV-2 envelope proteins in mice and the seroprevalence of Schmallenberg virus in sheep. He is a member of the Turkish Microbiology Society and Veterinary Microbiologists Association.
He has collaborated with institutions like Ankara University and Iğdır University on virology and animal health projects. His training includes certifications in basic statistics and experimental animal use, enhancing his quantitative and experimental research capabilities.
