Emma Li

Dr. Emma Li is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Deakin University's Department of Finance within the Deakin Business School, Faculty of Business and Law. She holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from Arizona State University. Her research focuses on financial intermediaries, entrepreneurial financing, crowdfunding, and Fintech, with publications in journals like Journal of Corporate Finance and Journal of Banking and Finance. She has received the SIRCA Best Paper Award twice (2017 and 2018) and has collaborated with institutions like Tsinghua PBC China.

Her grants include projects funded by Bendigo Bank ($10,000) and the Crescent Foundation & Chobani Pty Ltd ($125,000 combined). She supervises doctoral and master's students, including research on corporate finance, debt repayment behavior, and crypto currency markets. She teaches units like MAF202 Banking and Financial Institutions and MAF307 Equities and Investment Analysis.
