Emma Li-Ore is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Wagner College's Nicolais School of Business. She holds a PhD and MBA from Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College - CUNY, and an MS in Accounting from University of Maryland. Her interdisciplinary research examines economic consequences of disclosure-based regulations, corporate misconduct, and roles of non-investor stakeholders in shaping information environments.
Research interests focus on capital market implications of accounting regulations, particularly how disclosure requirements affect market participants. Additional research explores corporate misconduct patterns and regulatory enforcement effectiveness. Current projects investigate information environment dynamics in stakeholder-influenced contexts and externalities of financial disclosure regulations.
Publications demonstrate theoretical and empirical approaches to market reactions to regulatory changes, with recent work examining political affiliations in advertising and consumer evaluation of green marketing claims. Earlier research explored brand community innovation and subcultural influences on consumer behavior.
Honors include the Mills Tannenbaum Research Excellence Award, John Deane Fund for Environmental Studies research grant, Maureen Robinson Fellowship, and Dean H. Fenwick Huss Teaching Award. She serves on curriculum and assessment committees at both school and college levels.
Professional background includes financial planning & analysis at Westinghouse, auditing at BDO Global, portfolio management, and prior teaching experience at Baruch College-CUNY.
