Emma Klugman is an Assistant Professor of the Practice and Program Director for the M.S. in Data Science at Boston College's Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment (MESA) department. She earned her Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. from Harvard University in Education Policy & Program Evaluation, Education, and Statistics/Computer Science, respectively.

Her research examines pedagogical modernization and equity in statistics and data science education. She combines natural language processing with psychometric measurement to analyze pedagogical trends across 32,000 syllabi and develops lexicon-based instruments for evaluating curricular alignment.
Dr. Klugman has extensive cross-sector experience, including collaborations with the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government, the National Center for the Improvement of Educational Assessment, ETS, and the World Bank. She also contributed to a successful state lawsuit for education funding equity and has years of teaching and course development experience.
