Dr. Emma Jones is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biosciences at The University of Sheffield. Her role as a Senior University Teacher involves undergraduate teaching, including laboratory sessions, lectures, and tutorial leadership. She serves as a Level 2 year tutor and disability liaison officer, supporting students with disabilities. Prior to this, she held a Lecturer position (2013–2022) and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford’s Human Immunology Unit. Her research background includes mitochondrial DNA replication, HIV-1 vaccine design, and iron metabolism in thalassaemia. She contributes to teaching modules such as Molecular Biology (Level 1), Genetics 2 (Level 2), and Education and Outreach Project (Level 3).
