Emma Haynes is a Research Fellow at the School of Population and Global Health, University of Western Australia, affiliated with the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Research Centre (CERC). Her work focuses on rheumatic heart disease (RHD), Indigenous health, and health systems strengthening in remote communities. She leads and collaborates on projects funded by Healthway, the Medical Research Future Fund, and the Western Australian Department of Health.
Key research themes include RHD prevention, improving healthcare access for Aboriginal Australians, and applying participatory design methodologies. She has published extensively on RHD mortality, health system gaps, and culturally appropriate care models. Current projects include the 'Good paths for health hearts' initiative and the NEARER SCAN echocardiography program.
