Emma Collins is a Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Keele University's School of Nursing and Midwifery, and serves as the Academic Lead for Admissions, Recruitment & Marketing. She is also the admissions link tutor for the Keele University International College (KUIC), focusing on UK and international recruitment, widening access, and marketing.
Her clinical background spans 18 years in the NHS, specializing in Adult Nursing across medical, surgical, hematology, dermatology, and emergency care. She transitioned to academia in 2013, contributing to pre-registration and post-registration programs, and completed her MSc in Professional Education in 2015. Collins is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a professional doctorate candidate in Health Education (DEdHealth).
Her research and academic interests lie in leadership development, mentorship, and learning in clinical practice, with a focus on nursing teams. She explores compassionate leadership implementation, self-management for osteoarthritis, and evidence-based clinical innovations. Her 2020 publication on transformational leadership highlights strategies to enhance clinical team dynamics.
Collins collaborates on projects related to musculoskeletal care and implementation science, often partnering with researchers in osteoarthritis and primary care. She has contributed to studies on community pharmacy models and knowledge mobilization in clinical practice.
