Emma Armstrong-Carter

Emma Armstrong-Carter is an Assistant Professor at Tufts University's Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study & Human Development. She holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and completed postdoctoral training at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on children's caregiving roles within families and their impact on academic success and well-being, with a particular emphasis on policy interventions to support caregiving youth. She partners directly with schools and state agencies to design equitable educational policies.

Research Interests: Child development, prosocial behavior, caregiving youth advocacy, school policies, and interdisciplinary research-practice partnerships. Her work highlights the need for systemic support for caregiving youth in marginalized communities.
