Emily Weinstein

Emily Weinstein is a Principal Investigator at Project Zero and Co-Director of the Center for Digital Thriving at Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). Her work examines how technology shapes adolescent development, focusing on digital citizenship, empathy, and well-being. She holds a doctorate and master's from HGSE, specializing in Human Development & Education and Prevention Science. Key projects include the Behind Their Screens research with 3,500+ U.S. teens and collaborations with Common Sense Education on award-winning digital citizenship curricula.

Her research spans psychology, education, and sociology, addressing topics like social media's dual effects, digital dilemmas in youth behavior, and co-designing interventions with adolescents. She teaches a course on adolescence and social media at HGSE and leads a 'listening tour' to gather insights for the Center for Digital Thriving.
