Emily McEachern serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences at Rhode Island College, holding a B.S. from the University of South Carolina and a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama.
Her research program pioneers synergistic metal-ligand cooperative catalysts, focusing on organic ligand frameworks that collaborate with metal centers to activate challenging polar bonds (H2, C-H, C-C, C-O, O-H). This work directly addresses critical needs in medicinal chemistry by enabling efficient synthesis of bioactive molecules through unconventional bond cleavage/formation pathways that transcend traditional metal-centered catalysis.
