Emily Marler is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL). She teaches undergraduate courses full-time and serves as a Psi Chi Faculty Mentor while assisting in operating the SONA human subject pool for the department. Her research focuses on Cognitive Neuroscience and Educational Psychology.
- B.A. in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale
- M.A. and Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology (Cognitive Neuroscience concentration) from Saint Louis University
Her work explores academic success, student motivation, and the psychological effects of the pandemic on university students. Publications include studies on identification, generational status, and remote learning during the pandemic. Earlier research addressed student life and engagement in nursing education.
Marler has taught Cognitive Psychology, Advanced Research Methods and Statistics, Psychological Statistics, Research Methods, and Introduction to Psychology. She has experience in both in-person and online instruction.
