Dr. Emily Markides serves as a Lecturer in Peace and Reconciliation Studies at the University of Maine’s College of Education and Human Development. Her work integrates ecology, peacebuilding, and sustainability under the concept of 'EcoPeace.' She previously served as the first Interim Director of the Peace and Reconciliation Program (1988–1991) and co-founded ESTIA, an international NGO promoting EcoPeace through permaculture, ecovillages, and ecological design in Cyprus and Maine.
