Emily Johnson

Emily Johnson, PhD is a tenured Professor in the College of Nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She holds a Bachelor of Science from Furman University, a Master in Health Administration from MUSC, and a Doctoral Degree in Health and Rehabilitation Science from MUSC.

Within the College of Nursing, Dr. Johnson teaches statistics and epidemiology in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and serves as a statistician for DNP student quality improvement projects. Her research focuses on mixed methods research design in implementation science, particularly evaluating telehealth-based interventions for adoption and sustainability at the MUSC Center of Telehealth Excellence. She has active national research leadership roles in organizations like the Society for Implementation Research Collaboration Network of Expertise.

Dr. Johnson previously worked as an administrative resident and research analyst at MUSC Health, focusing on hospital access, trauma care outcomes, and telemedicine. She has also taught organizational theory, research design, and statistics at the College of Health Professions at MUSC and Ohio University's Health Administration Department. Her career spans both clinical and academic domains with a strong emphasis on healthcare delivery research.
