Emily Houh is the Gustavus Henry Wald Professor of Law and Contracts at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. She teaches Contracts, Commercial Law, and Critical Race Theory, and co-directs the Center for Race, Gender, and Social Justice. She has twice won the Goldman Prize for Teaching Excellence.

Research Interests: Houh’s work examines the interplay between contract law, critical race theory, and socioeconomic inequality. She collaborates with Prof. Kristin Kalsem on participatory action research exploring the raced and gendered dynamics of the 'fringe economy.' Her recent projects emphasize intersectional analyses of sex/gender marginalization and equity.

Before UC Law, Houh was an Assistant Professor at Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law. She clerked for U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor and held roles at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago and Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone, PLC.
