Emily Hershman is a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Notre Dame where she teaches Irish literature and engages in British and Irish Studies research. She completed her doctorate at Notre Dame after undergraduate studies in English, History, and Women's and Gender Studies at Wake Forest University.
Her academic work bridges literary analysis, historical context, and gender theory, with particular emphasis on Irish literary traditions. She also contributes to academic advancement through grant proposal development and mentors writers through the PEN America Prison Writing Program.
