Emily Halpin is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Education. She holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from New York University (2018) and a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from Bucknell University (2009). Her research focuses on dual-language development in Latino preschoolers, including code-switching practices, narrative skills, and family language dynamics. Her work is supported by a federal grant from the Administration for Children and Families, which funded longitudinal studies in Head Start programs. She actively contributes to HDFS by managing student internships in educational and social service organizations.
