Emily Barrell

Emily Barrell is an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Population Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Her academic focus spans large animal medicine, with specialized expertise in small ruminant and camelid care, companion/pet pig medicine, gastrointestinal disease, large animal oncology, and acupuncture.

Her research and clinical work emphasize integrative approaches to gastrointestinal health and oncology in non-traditional companion animals. She holds dual certifications in veterinary internal medicine and acupuncture, reflecting her interdisciplinary practice.
