Emilie Elkiær is an academic staff member affiliated with the Department of Mathematics at the University of Oslo and holds a M.Sc. in Mathematics (2019) and B.Sc. in Mathematics (2017) from the University of Copenhagen. She has also completed a BA in Dance Teaching (2013) from the University of Dance and Circus, Stockholm.
- Teaching: Exercise sessions for courses including Linear Analysis, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, and Structures and Arguments at University of Oslo (2022–2025) and University of Copenhagen (2016–2017).
- Research: Focus on functional analysis, operator algebras, and representation theory of discrete and locally compact groups, with publications on themes like Property (T), Lp-representations, and exotic group C*-algebras.
- Organizational Leadership: Co-initiator of 'What is..?' seminars (ongoing) and former board member of Operator Algebra Mentor Network (2021–2023).
Her recent publications in journals like Expositiones Mathematicae, Studia Mathematica, and Journal of Operator Theory explore connections between representation theory, geometric group properties, and operator algebraic structures. The work often addresses foundational questions in amenability, fixed-point properties, and classification of operator algebras.
Emilie is actively involved in academic community building through co-organizing seminars and mentoring networks, reflecting her commitment to collaborative research in operator algebras and functional analysis.
