Emilie DeRochie

Emilie DeRochie is a Lecturer in the Environmental Technician Program at St. Lawrence College and serves as River Strategy Coordinator & Educator at the River Institute in Cornwall, Ontario. Her work spans public outreach, field research, education material development, and cross-sector collaboration along the St. Lawrence River.

• B.A. (Hons) in Environmental Studies and Biology from Carleton University (2019)
• B.Ed. from University of Ottawa (2021)
• Currently pursuing M.Ed. in Environmental and Sustainability Education at Lakehead University (online)

Her research interests focus on freshwater ecology, fish biodiversity, and environmental education, particularly through hands-on fieldwork and community engagement. She contributes to the Great River Rapport project and facilitates workshops and events to promote river conservation.

At St. Lawrence College, she teaches Biology while maintaining full-time employment at the River Institute, where she coordinates field research, social media, and inter-organizational communication.
