Emilie Brisson Stapel is a Research Fellow at Aalborg University's Department of the Built Environment within The Faculty of Engineering and Science. She specializes in environmental product declarations (EPDs), life cycle assessment (LCA), and sustainable construction practices. Her work focuses on aligning building sector environmental standards with whole-life carbon limits, digitalization challenges in sustainability reporting, and spatiotemporal tracking of building materials' impacts. She has contributed to projects like the LCAbyg software development and environmental data aggregation initiatives.
Her research integrates methodological advancements in LCA methodologies, policy implementation for building material transparency, and the application of digital tools to enhance sustainability in construction. Projects include collaboration with Danish environmental agencies on GHG emission limits and material data collection frameworks.
Brisson Stapel has participated in international conferences, workshops, and media engagements discussing topics like digitalization's role in EPD systems and challenges in achieving climate-neutral buildings. She is affiliated with the Division of Sustainability of Buildings and has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on environmental impact analysis and policy alignment.
