Emilia Vrahimi

Emilia Vrahimi is a Researcher at the Department of Law of the European University Institute (EUI). Her research focuses on the construction of ‘vulnerable victims’ under the Victims' Rights Directive, with a comparative analysis of Cyprus and Greece. She is supervised by Full-time Professor Gráinne De Búrca.

Her interdisciplinary research interests include EU criminal law, European law and institutions, protection of fundamental rights, and feminist legal studies. Specific themes include the intersection of LGBTIQ+ rights, queering law, and criminal law theory within EU frameworks.

Emilia is part of the 2024 academic cohort at EUI and contributes to debates on the evolving legal protections for vulnerable groups in transnational governance contexts.
