Emilia Isabelle Dechamps

Emilia Isabelle Dechamps is a Scientific Associate and doctoral candidate in the Eco-Social Innovation by Design PhD program at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), School of Design Film Art, affiliated with the Transformation Design research group.

Her research focuses on "Conscious Co-Creation for Social Transformation," investigating how mindfulness practices support participatory design in eco-social communities. This work spans social design, inclusive design for marginalized populations (including people with disabilities, refugees, and prisoners), and sustainable community development through hands-on programs.

Since 2011, Dechamps has founded the non-profit "be able eV" to drive inclusion via design, taught at Berlin-Weißensee Art Academy and Wentworth Institute of Technology, and served on the HPI D-School Coaching Team since 2016. She has led international workshops across India, South Africa, Bangladesh, Colombia, Ecuador, Cuba, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
