Emil Marklund is an Assistant Professor at Stockholm University's Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, leading his research group in exploring molecular recognition mechanisms and sequence-structure-function relationships in biological macromolecules. His lab combines high-throughput biophysical measurements with computational modeling to achieve quantitative understanding of molecular interactions.
Research focuses include:
- High-throughput analysis of molecular binding specificity
- Computational modeling of macromolecular interactions
- Structural biology and biophysics of protein-DNA/RNA systems
In 2025, the lab received a prestigious Future Research Leader grant (SEK 15 million over five years) from the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, which will support both research and leadership development.
