Dr. Emi Garcia-Palacios is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Queen's University Belfast. Her research focuses on wireless communication systems, including resource management in future high-density networks, IoT applications, UAV integration, and physical layer security. She leads academic accreditation and has directed MSc programs.
Research interests include Energy Optimization, 6G Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, and Air Quality Monitoring via IoT. She has supervised multiple PhD students and contributed to projects like the TUDOR and Fly-by Air Quality initiatives.
Awards include the 2023 IEEE CAMAD Best Paper Award and student paper recognitions from 2005 to 2019. She has reviewed for journals like IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and holds editorial roles in academic publications.
