Emanuele Zappala is an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Idaho State University. He has held postdoctoral and associate research positions at Yale University and the University of Tartu (Estonia) under Estonian Research Council funding, and conducted research at the University of Michigan.

- BSc in Physics, University of Catania
His research spans quantum algebra/topology, cocycle invariants of knots/manifolds, Yang-Baxter operators, and quantum machine learning applications to physics. He has supervised PhD research at the University of South Florida and published on knot theory.
