Emanuela Di Felice is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Design of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso (PUVC) in Chile and serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil (2018–2025). She holds a doctorate from the University of Rome III and completed postdoctoral research in Brazil. Her interdisciplinary work bridges urban arts, heritage reuse, and community cooperativism through action-research frameworks.
Her research explores:
- Urban Drift: Walking as aesthetic practice to reimagine inhabited environments.
- Abandoned Heritage: Community-led reuse of vacant buildings in South America.
- Self-Managed Movements: Grassroots urban transformation and social sustainability.
Publications analyze community-driven regeneration, emphasizing social justice in urban spaces. Recent works in Tracce Urbane and Acto & Forma examine informal-to-formal transitions in housing.
She mentors graduate students through PUVC's Independent Studies program and collaborates with the research group LAC (Laboratorio Arti Civiche) at the University of Rome III and the artistic collective ATI-Suffix.
