Elvan Bakar

Elvan Bakar is a full-time Professor at Trakya University Faculty of Pharmacy, where she has served since 2022. She holds a PhD in Cell Biology from Trakya University (2008) and has held administrative roles including Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy (2024–present), Head of the Department of Basic Pharmacy Sciences (since 2017), and leadership positions in biotechnology, accreditation, and ethics committees. Her research focuses on oxidative stress, apoptosis, and hepatotoxicity in disease models.

Research Interests: Her work explores the molecular mechanisms of oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and glycoconjugate alterations in neuroblastoma, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and drug-induced organ toxicity. Key areas include:

• Investigating antioxidant therapies (e.g., curcumin, naringin) for organ protection
• Environmental toxicology (e.g., aluminum, cadmium, BDE-99)
• Drug resistance in cancer models
• Role of sialic acid and glycosaminoglycans in cellular pathology

Article Trends: Recent publications (2025–2023) emphasize hepatotoxicity and renal protection in pharmacological models, neurodegenerative mechanisms, and mitochondrial apoptosis in cancer. Collaborative work includes international conferences in Turkey, Germany, and Bosnia.
