Elsa Gunter

Elsa Gunter is a Research Professor and Senior Lecturer at the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science, part of the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin (1987). Her research focuses on programming languages, formal methods, software engineering, and interdisciplinary computing education.

Key research areas include the semantics of programming languages, compiler optimization, formal verification frameworks, and integrating computing into interdisciplinary education.
