Research Interests: Abreu's work centers on the intersection of quantum electronics, condensed matter physics, and photonics. She investigates how materials respond to ultrafast THz pulses, high-pressure environments, and laser excitation, with a focus on phase transitions in ferroelectrics, charge-density-wave systems, and topological semimetals. Her studies often employ cutting-edge techniques like time-domain spectroscopy and X-ray probing.
Publication Trends: Her recent articles highlight terahertz spectroscopy applications for probing structural and electronic dynamics, including nonlinear responses in HgCdTe, pressure-driven transitions in SrTiO3 films, and coherent control of effective mass in WTe2. Key themes include symmetry breaking, topological materials, and ultrafast manipulation of quantum states.
