Eloise Moss is a Senior Lecturer in Modern British History at the University of Manchester's Department of History. She specializes in crime, urban space, gender, sexuality, and surveillance technologies, with a focus on 19th- and 20th-century Britain. Her research integrates social, cultural, and political histories, particularly through lenses of emotion and material culture.

- Burglary and its cultural, spatial, and temporal impacts
- Hotels as sites of civil rights struggles (e.g., suffrage, anti-racism)
- Child migration to Canada (1860–1935), gendered histories
- Surveillance technologies and urban policing
Her monograph Night Raiders: Burglary and the Making of Modern Urban Life (2019) explores how burglary shaped perceptions of home and city. Current projects include Hotelympus: A History of Pampering and Prejudice, analyzing hotel spaces in British identity formation.
