Dr. Elmer Niels Ruigrok is a Dutch seismologist currently holding a dual appointment as Senior Seismologist at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) (80% position) and Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's Department of Earth Sciences within the Faculty of Geosciences (20% position). Born on January 14th, 1981 in Eindhoven, Netherlands, he has established himself as a leading researcher in seismic methodology with particular expertise in human-induced seismicity.
