Elliott Young is Professor of History at Lewis & Clark College, specializing in transnational migration and borderlands history. His research examines immigrant incarceration, deportation systems, and Latin American migration patterns.
Current projects analyze racism in US immigration policies, Chinese migration in the Americas, and Mexico-Texas border revolutions. He founded the Tepoztlán Institute for Transnational History and directs the Migration Scholar Collaborative.
He provides expert witness testimony for asylum cases and has authored opinion pieces for the Washington Post, Time, and Houston Chronicle. His teaching covers colonial/modern Latin America, Mexican/Cuban history, Immigration & Asylum Law, and Public History Lab.
