معرفی
Dr. Ellie Jameson is a Teaching & Research Lecturer at Bangor University's School of Environmental and Natural Sciences. Her research focuses on bacteriophage (phage) biology, microbial ecology, and their applications in healthcare and environmental monitoring. She holds a PhD in Molecular studies on marine cyanobacteria and their phages from Plymouth Marine Laboratory (2004–2008).
Her work spans phage therapy development, antibiotic resistance solutions, and wastewater-based epidemiology. Notable projects include the One Health Wales initiative (2022–2023), leveraging interdisciplinary approaches to integrate public and environmental health surveillance. She also leads the EPIC project (2025–2026) to improve chronic wound care using phage products.
Jameson's research emphasizes phage diversity in soil, oceans, and clinical settings. She has pioneered visual storytelling through phage-themed cartoons, bridging science communication and research (e.g., 'Going viral: phage therapy in Africa' and 'The Evolution of Phage').
Her grants include a £42k Bangor University Innovation Award for One Health initiatives and collaborations on phage-biofilm interactions. She actively supervises postgraduate research and contributes to academic publishing in journals like PHAGE and Microbiome.
