Professor Ellie Dommett is a Professor of Neuroscience at King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), Department of Psychology. She leads the BSc Psychology Programme and focuses on two main research areas: neuroscience (particularly ADHD and distractibility) and pedagogic research on educational technology. Her neuroscience work examines the superior colliculus’s role in ADHD and psychostimulant effects, while her pedagogic research evaluates tools like lecture capture and virtual learning environments. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Sheffield and is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Her teaching includes modules on biological psychology, neuroscience, and skills development. She leads education initiatives such as the College TEL Transformation Strategy and has received awards like the National Teaching Fellowship (2024) and King's Teaching Excellence Award (2017). Key grants include studies on ADHD medication effects, online education impacts, and exercise in ADHD management. She supervises PhD students and collaborates with neurodivergent communities through initiatives like the ADHD Research Lab.
