Ellen Ramvi

Ellen Ramvi is a full-time Professor at the Department of Caring and Ethics, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Stavanger. Since 2007, she has led the Professional Relations in Welfare Professions research group.

• Research Interests: Focuses on relational work, care ethics, and emotional dynamics in healthcare. Currently leading the Caring Futures (QUALITECH) project (2020–2024) to develop care ethics for technology-mediated practices.
• Methodological Contributions: Co-developed the Visual Matrix, a psycho-social approach to studying end-of-life experiences and implicit care dynamics.

Key Research Trends include:

• Integrating care ethics with digital health
• Exploring emotional labor in multicultural caregiving
• Examining institutional constraints on relational work
• Advancing visual methods for existential research
