Dr. Ellen Martin serves as Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for the Health and Physical Education Program within the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at Columbus State University.
Education:
- Ed.D. in Physical Education, Auburn University
- M.S. in Physical Education, University of Tennessee – Knoxville
- B.S.Ed. in Physical Education, Troy State University
Research Focus: Dr. Martin specializes in Physical Education curriculum development and pedagogy, with particular expertise in elementary teaching strategies. Her work bridges Health Education and Sport Pedagogy through practical classroom applications, as evidenced by her co-authored textbook Teaching Elementary Physical Education: Strategies for the Classroom Teacher and publications in the Journal of Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy and Journal of Curriculum Studies.
