Elke Richter

Elke Richter is a Professor of Building History and Heritage Conservation at Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg. She holds adjunct positions at Hochschule Anhalt - Campus Dessau and previously served as Acting Professor at Cottbus-Senftenberg. Her research focuses on architectural history, fortifications, and heritage management across eras from antiquity to modern times.

Education includes a Diplom in Architecture from TU Dresden (2006), Master's in Heritage Conservation from TU Berlin (2008), and PhD research on Berlin's Royal Library building history (2007–2009). She has held fellowships including Early Career at BTU (2017–2018) and extensive research roles in DFG projects like 'Ancient Settlement Topography of Triphyli' (2008–2013).

Research interests span ancient fortifications in Greece, GDR engineering history, and modernist building typologies.
