Elizabeth Wellman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Memphis. She teaches courses in Comparative Politics, Democratic Erosion, Migration and Citizenship, Social Movements, and African Politics.
Her research examines how international migration reshapes electoral politics and citizenship practices, with regional expertise in sub-Saharan Africa. She maintains research affiliations with Princeton University's Bobst Center for Peace and Justice and the African Centre for Migration and Society.
Wellman has developed innovative datasets tracking extraterritorial voting rights globally and published on diaspora voting patterns in journals including the American Political Science Review and Comparative Political Studies.
