Elizabeth Walter serves as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education in the Department of Education at Rockhurst University's College of Arts and Sciences. She additionally holds roles as Kappa Delta Pi Advisor and University Supervisor for Student Teachers.
Her academic credentials include:
- Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Baker University
- M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas
- B.S.E. in Secondary Education (Social Science and English) from the University of Kansas
Dr. Walter's research investigates higher education attainment disparities among minoritized high school graduates in the Kansas City metro area, while also advancing scholarship in educational leadership, trauma-informed pedagogy, and social justice frameworks. Her teaching philosophy integrates Jesuit Core Values—particularly Magis (pursuit of excellence) and Cura Personalis (care for the whole person)—to develop reflective educators grounded in Ignatian principles.

Beyond research, she actively mentors student teachers and advises secondary English/foreign language education candidates, bridging theory and practice through her K-12 teaching background in Blue Valley Unified School District where she instructed English, social science, reading, and AVID programs.
