Dr. Elizabeth Stephan is a Principal Lecturer and Director of Academics for the General Engineering program at Clemson University. She coordinates the ENGR 1410 course and teaches programming, problem-solving, and engineering skills courses. Her pedagogical research focuses on metacognition, peer learning, and curriculum development in engineering education.
Dr. Stephan earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron and has received multiple teaching awards including the Tau Beta Pi National Outstanding Advisor (2015) and CECAS Byers Prize for Excellence in Teaching (2010). She is lead author of the textbook 'Thinking Like an Engineer: An Active Learning Approach'.
