Elizabeth Safran

Elizabeth Safran is an Associate Professor of Geological Science and Director of the Earth System Science Minor at Lewis & Clark College. Her research focuses on geomorphological processes and natural disasters, particularly earthquakes, with interdisciplinary collaborations in psychology, computer science, and media studies. She is deeply engaged in understanding disaster preparedness behaviors among young adults and concerns about earthquake risks in the Cascadia subduction zone region.
