Elizabeth Prodromou is a Visiting Professor in the International Studies Program at Boston College, affiliated with the Islamic Civilizations and Societies Program and the Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life. Her work bridges geopolitics, religion, and human rights, focusing on the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East.

Research emphasizes religious geopolitics, cultural heritage policy, and religious pluralism. She co-edited volumes on Orthodox Christianity in higher education and authored widely in journals like Journal of World Christianity and Survival. Professional roles include Vice Chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (2004–2012) and membership in the Secretary of State’s Religion & Foreign Policy Working Group (2011–2015). Currently leads research on Russian religious soft power strategies and cultural heritage policy impacts.
