Elizabeth Mitchell is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Bachelor of Music Therapy program at Wilfrid Laurier University's Faculty of Music. She has been teaching and clinically supervising students since 2007.

- Master of Music Therapy (Laurier, 2007)
Research Interests include community music therapy, music-centered psychotherapy in mental health settings, anti-oppressive models of practice, and intersections between music therapy, community music, and music education. Her doctoral work examined musical performances' affordances for identity development and relationships.
Scientific Awards include the 2024 Hoffman-Little Award for Teaching Excellence and a 2016 Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund Grant.
She has practiced at Homewood Health Centre (2017-2020) and Lutherwood Mental Health Services (2007-2012), providing clinical supervision and conducting research in eating disorders, mood disorders, and crisis support. As a professional pianist and soprano, she holds an ARCT in piano performance and sings with the Canadian Chamber Choir.
