Elizabeth Fisher is Associate Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University. Her research advances sustainable energy technologies through combustion chemistry and thermal systems analysis.
Research highlights:
- Biomass cookstove design for developing regions
- Pyrolysis kinetics and biochar applications
- Oxy-combustion for carbon capture
- Biofuel combustion chemistry
She co-developed Cornell's hydrogen energy station concept and has contributed to USDA-funded projects on biochar carbon sequestration.
Teaching honors include:
- College of Engineering's James and Mary Tien Teaching Award
- ASME St. Lawrence Section Outstanding Teacher Award
- John Swanson Teaching Prize
Fisher holds PhD and MS degrees from University of California and serves as Fellow of Cornell's Atkinson Sustainability Center.
