معرفی
Elizabeth J. Bailey is a Research Fellow in the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University. Her work focuses on the oncogenic virus Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) using cryogenic electron microscopy. She collaborates in the laboratories of Dr. Yong Xiong and Dr. Allison Didychuk. Previously, she earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University, investigating bacterial transcription-translation coupling mechanisms, and holds a B.A. in Chemistry and Studio Art from Kenyon College, where she was a Goldwater Scholar.
Education:
- Ph.D., Chemistry, Columbia University (NSF GRFP Fellow)
- M.A., Chemistry, Princeton University
- B.A., Chemistry and Studio Art, Kenyon College (Goldwater Scholar)
Research Interests: Bailey’s research integrates virology, oncology, and structural biology to study KSHV pathogenesis. Her work utilizes advanced cryo-EM techniques to elucidate viral mechanisms. Earlier studies explored foundational bacterial processes, bridging molecular biology and biochemistry.
Awards:
- American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellow (2025)
- National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (2015)
- Barry M. Goldwater Scholar (2010)
Labs & Teams: Active in the Didychuk Lab and collaborates with Dr. Yong Xiong’s group, advancing interdisciplinary virology and structural biology research.
