Elizabeth Hasenmueller is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Saint Louis University's School of Science and Engineering. Her research focuses on the intersection of water, soil, and rock chemistry in natural and human-altered environments, with particular emphasis on contaminant transport and critical zone processes.
- Ph.D. & M.A., Washington University in St. Louis
- B.S., Indiana University
Research interests include:
- Surface and groundwater quality analysis
- Hydrochemical studies across rural-urban gradients
- Soil CO2 dynamics and rooting depth relationships
- Bedrock weathering mechanisms
- Karst aquifer contamination pathways
- Critical zone biogeochemical processes
Their 2011-2017 publications demonstrate consistent work in environmental geochemistry, hydrology, and contaminant transport across diverse systems including karst aquifers, urban watersheds, and forested critical zones.
